Teaching in the east of Brabant

The east of Brabant is one of the most innovative regions in the Netherlands. Schools here work closely with companies and universities, creating strong connections between education and industry within the brainport area. We support professionals who are interested in teaching in primary education, secondary education, vocational education and specialized education. You usually need a recognized diploma, a teaching qualification and sufficient Dutch language skills.

Project Wereldburgers in de klas

We train newcomers and career changers to become skilled teachers. In this way, we strengthen diversity in the classroom and participation in society. This project contributes to more teachers in education and gives status holders and knowledge migrants the opportunity to participate in society.

Training program

The training program is designed for candidates with a teaching qualification and proficiency in the Dutch language at a minimum B1 level. The program consists of three phases, each with a clear structure and duration.

Project Internationals in de klas

Internationals in de klas offers highly educated internationals the opportunity to apply their knowledge and experience in Dutch education. By learning the language and obtaining a diploma, they become qualified to teach. International talent and local education strengthen one another, enriching schools with new expertise and colleagues. This programme is specifically designed for internationally educated STEM professionals who are considering teaching in the Netherlands but lack familiarity with the Dutch education system, language requirements, or certification pathways. Internationals in de klas is a collaboration between Brainport Development, ASML, Expat Spouses Initiative (ESI), ESoE (TU/e), Fontys, Onderwijsregio Brabant-Oost, Trion Opleidingsschool, and AOS-Zuidoost-Brabant.
